The citizens in our country are unaware of the issues that plague 9-1-1 centers across the United States. Understaffed centers due to high turnover which leads to low morale and burnout. The telecommunicators in these centers are working hard every day to ensure there is someone there to answer our call in the worst moments of our life. We don’t think about what the person answering our 9-1-1 call is dealing with – everyone’s WORST moment. Right? Well, Whitney Weaver at the Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office in Seneca, KS is “Answering The Call To Be Her Best Self Every Day”. She is dedicated to give each person who calls their center the very best care and she goes above and beyond on calls that need extra thought by thinking outside the box. She also trains new hires and makes sure they are trained properly. And gets extra information to relay to the first responders to keep them safe. We were so excited to honor Whitney with a KPATC Challenge Coin during our Zoom presentation on November 16. Thank you Whitney for your dedication and professionalism to the 9-1-1 industry.
