Our Salt Lake City volunteers visited the Salt Lake Valley Emergency Communications Center in Utah yesterday to honor a very special dispatcher – Logan Quintana – with a KPATC Foundation Challenge Coin. Logan received a call from a caller with unknown trouble. He could only hear a gasp. Logan wasn’t sure what was wrong but he listened to his instinct and dispatched a medical detail along with police to the address received via ANI/ALI, RapidSOS and past phone records. Due to Logan’s quick-thinking, the paramedics who arrived on the scene saved this callers life. If Logan had not sent the paramedics right away and waited for police to confirm medical help was needed, it would have been too late. Minutes and seconds do count in life-threatening medical situations. Thank you Logan! We appreciate your service to your community. You are saving lives!
